What Changed on 1 July 2026
- The MGNREGA Act, 2005 was repealed and replaced by the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission, Gramin).
- Guaranteed wage employment rises from 100 to 125 days per rural household per financial year.
- Job Cards for workers with completed Aadhaar e-KYC remain valid through the transition, until new Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Cards are issued.
- The official portal has moved from nrega.nic.in to nrega.dord.gov.in.

The Basics
What Is a Job Card?
A Job Card is the official document your Gram Panchayat issues once your rural household registers under the employment guarantee scheme. It lists the name, age and photo of every adult member willing to do unskilled manual work, and every day of work, attendance and wage payment against your household is recorded against it. One household gets one Job Card, shared by all its registered adult members.
State
A 2-letter code, the same family of abbreviations used on vehicle registrations (RJ = Rajasthan, UP = Uttar Pradesh, and so on).
District, Block & Panchayat
Three short numeric codes that pinpoint your local administrative area, shared by every household registered in the same Gram Panchayat.
Household & Member No.
The last segment(s) identify your specific household within the panchayat, and sometimes the individual member serial after a slash.
Step by Step
How to Check Your Job Card List Online
Open the official portal
Go to nrega.dord.gov.in (this replaced nrega.nic.in). Avoid any look-alike site that isn’t a .gov.in or .nic.in address.
Go to Reports
From the menu, open Reports, then select your State from the list shown.
Select District → Block → Panchayat
Narrow down through your District, then Block, then Gram Panchayat, and pick the financial year you want to check.
Open the Job Card / Employment Register
Click “Job Card/Employment Register” (usually listed under “R1”). This lists every registered household in your panchayat with its job card number.
Find your name and open your record
Use Ctrl+F to search the page for your name, then click your job card number to see full details, work history and wage payments.
Print or save as PDF
Use your browser’s print option and choose “Save as PDF” to keep a digital copy of your job card details.
Some Gram Panchayat pages may still show transition-related errors while data migrates from the old system. If a page fails to load, wait and try again, or ask your Gram Rozgar Sahayak to check the record for you.
Getting Registered
How to Apply for a New Job Card
Offline, through your Gram Panchayat
- Visit your Gram Panchayat office or contact your Gram Rozgar Sahayak.
- Submit a simple application (oral or written) with Aadhaar, two passport photos, and a bank/post office passbook copy.
- Your household is verified locally, and the physical Job Card, with photos, is issued free of charge.
Online, through the UMANG app
- Download the UMANG app (Google Play or App Store).
- Search for the rural employment guarantee service and select “Apply for Job Card.”
- Fill in your household and Aadhaar details, then submit for verification by your local Panchayat.
Registration and the Job Card itself are free. Processing typically takes around 15 working days. Any adult member of a rural household willing to do unskilled manual work is eligible, there is no income or age-below-cutoff test beyond being an adult resident of the village.
